Abstrakt: AbstractAfter re-assembling on Monday, 20th August, the Conference settled down to the consideration of a number of papers on “Surveys in Cold Climates”. These comprised “Winter Survey” by Major B. F. Engler of the Canadian Army; “Surveys in Cold Climates” by Mr. A. Stephenson; “The Modern Approach to Mapping in Cold Climates” by Mr. P. G. Mott; “Cold Climate Surveys” by Mr. D. L. Mills; “Topographic Mapping of Antarctica” by Mr. G. D. Whitmore; and “The Peacetime Role of the United States Navy in Antarctica Exploration and Research” by Mr. J. E. Mooney, the last three coming from representatives of the U.S.A.
