Effects of the temperature and the catalyst and solvent nature on the electrocatalytic reduction of benzylideneacetone is studied. Based on chromatography and IR spectroscopy, hydrogenation products include 4-phenylbutene-3-ol-2 (7.2%), a mixture of 4-phenylbutanol-2 and 4-phenyl-2-butanone (75%), and original benzylideneacetone (14.8%).Effects of the temperature and the catalyst and solvent nature on the electrocatalytic reduction of benzylideneacetone is studied.
