BackgroundMost adolescent females are tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia during any pelvic exam. We hypothesized that empirically obtaining these tests at time of routine Pap Smear is not cost effective because the prevalence of gonorrhea and chlamydia in the subset population is low. |
