CONNECTICUTPersonal.—Dr. John E. Flaherty, Rockville, has been elected chairman of the state, fish and game board for two years. —Dr. Clarence G. Thompson, Norwich, has been appointed health officer of the town of Preston.Research on Penicillin.—The New Britain General Hospital, New Britain, has been given funds by the Office of Scientific Research and Development to organize a research laboratory to study the effectiveness of penicillin as a curative agent in the treatment of experimental syphilis in human beings. The investigation is part of a cooperative study being carried out in several large centers in the country under the direction of a subcommittee on venereal diseases of the National Research Council. Dr. Paul D.
