Abstrakt: IN THIS ERA of general appreciation of the seriousness of malpractice litigation there is an interest among those engaged in the administration of justice and those engaged in the practice of medicine in what happens to the physician defendant in a malpractice action. In most instances this interest is not restricted to nor satisfied by analysis of the dollar value of judgments entered but extends to the effect of such a suit upon a physician in his practice, his privileges, his social and community life, and even his enjoyment in the practice of medicine and in living. Such a comprehensive study has not previously been reported.
