Abstrakt: The surgical treatment of varicocele has attracted the attention of many distinguished surgeons of the day—mainly, however, among those who devote more or less especial attention to diseases of the genito-urinary organs. All surgical operations are performed for the relief or cure of disease, whether it be of an acute or chronic nature, and time alone can demonstrate the true value of any special surgical procedure.The impression still prevails, among many of what might be termed the older surgeons, that varicocele is a disease that does not often call for surgical interference, because it can be borne by many suffering from the disease—to a limited extent—with the aid of a suspensory bandage or a flexible metal ring.
