Green Laser Photocoagulator Using Fiber Optics

Abstrakt: An argon laser ophthalmic photocoagulator using a fiber optic delivery system has been developed. This system consists of five essential components; namely, a compact argon ion laser, a newly developed high-light transmitting flexible fiber optics cable, a hand-held direct ophthalmoscope delivery system, an attachment for a conventional slit-lamp viewing system, and an attachment for a conventional indirect ophthalmoscope. The argon laser photocoagulator described has the advantage of being light weight, with a high degree of flexibility that makes it readily adaptable for use with these various observation systems.
