Abstrakt: | TO THE EDITOR. —Air pollutants escape from the exhaust valves of anesthesia machines.1 Unwanted noise is generated in the process. This irritating chatter may be silenced by venting the reservoir bag through a length of conductive tubing fixed to its distal end (Figure). Bag tension is controlled by means of a screw-clamp. The free end of the tube is weighted, causing the heavier-than-air effluent to layer on the floor, away from the faces of the surgical team. |
