In their letter, Fielder and Marshall note a puzzling omission in the brochure entitled "Questions and Answers About Vitamin A Supplementation as a Long-Term Treatment for RP" prepared for patients by the RP Foundation Fighting Blindness. While the brochure relies heavily on the article by Berson et al1 published in the June issue of the Archives, it is silent with regard to the editorial by Massof and Finkelstein2 published in the same issue. A reader of their letter is left to wonder why this was done, especially since the editorial expressed skepticism about the results of the study.The omission can be explained in a straightforward way: we simply did not have access to the editorial in time to consider it.
