REPORT OF A CASE A 35-year-old man presented to the Wilford Hall US Air Force Medical Center Dermatology Clinic (Lackland [Tex] Air Force Base) with a two- to three-month history of a growth on the third finger of his left hand (Fig 1). The lesion appeared after the finger was caught in a car door. After an initial growth phase of several weeks, the lesion stabilized but did not regress. It was not painful, nor did it itch or bleed even after further trauma. The patient was in excellent health and there was no family history of skin disease. The patient came to the Dermatology Clinic to have the lesion removed since it was becoming a cosmetic nuisance.Physical examination demonstrated a 5- to 6-mm dome-shaped papule with a slightly hyperkeratotic surface on the palmar aspect of the third finger of the right hand, just distal to the distal interphalangeal |
