Examination of a semi-automated management system for the outpatient diabetic includes criteria for its performance, and a management module based on information obtained at the patient visit along with examples of the output prescription. The changes in insulin recommended by the computer agreed with those of the physician in most instances (r = 0.98), and in no instance did the computer make hazardous recommendations. |
