Myocardial infarction occurred in two sisters, ages 18 and 19 years, respectively. The younger (case 1) died following an attempt to revascularize the myocardium by the Vineberg procedure. The lesions in this case differed from the arteriosclerotic changes usually present in occlusive coronary artery disease in that an advanced degree of intimal fibrous proliferation without associated lipid or calcium deposits was the sole pathological process observed. |
