Saunders Co., 1972.These two books, published simultaneously by the same publisher and addressed primarily to the same audience, reflect to different degrees the changes in medical education that have occurred during the past ten years. The first is derived almost entirely from an already extant—and quite good—Textbook of Medical Physiology and continues the admirably lucid expository style which has endeared Dr. Guyton's book to many. The reader has the feeling that the author is talking directly to him, often anticipating troublesome areas with an appropriate rhetorical question. The illustrations are mostly clearly labelled diagrams and line graphs; by intent, only such neuroanatomy as is absolutely necessary is included.
