Abstrakt: THYROID storm (thyroid crisis), a life-endangering, severe aggravation of thyrotoxicosis and intensification of the peripheral effects of thyroid hormone, is generally observed in patients known to be hyperthyroid but may occur in unrecognized hyperthyroidism, especially after infections, trauma, or surgery.
