Abstrakt: To the Editor.—Report of a Case.—A 43-year-old woman was admitted to the Manhasset (NY) Division of Long Island Jewish-Hillside Medical Center on April 27, 1982, complaining of left lower quadrant burning and sharp pain in the left groin. She had been in excellent health, with no prior surgery, and was not receiving any medications. She was gravida 3, para 2, with one spontaneous abortion. Her last menstrual period was on Feb 23, 1982. She was told on a previous examination that she had a left groin hernia. She believed she was eight weeks pregnant because she had not menstruated for two months. Two days before admission to the hospital, she began to pass blood and large clots from the vagina, which she interpreted as another spontaneous abortion.
