Abstrakt: A hydrogen rich flame ionisation detector is used for the detection of low molecular weight fluorocarbons. A significant increase in response is observed compared to that obtainable using a conventional flame ionisation detector. In the work presented the detection limit for carbon tetrafluoride is three orders of magnitude better than that quoted for the electron capture detector, whereas for dichlorodifluoromethane it is one order higher.
