Abstrakt: This paper describes uniform and complete separation of mammalian neutral lipids (cholesteryl esters, triglycerides, free fatty acids, diglycerides and polar lipids) by ascending chromatography on glass-fiber paper in a one-dimensional, single-development system (isooctane, benzene, acetic acid, acetone). A maximum of thirty-five minutes is required for development and visualization of chromatograms. Previously, comparable separation of neutral lipids required thin-layer chromatography with extra long plates and two successive development systems.
