Abstrakt: A procedure has been developed whereby the components of a mixture may be separated and their carbon and hydrogen contents determined using a temperature programmed gas chromatograph followed by a high temperature copper oxide combustion tube which feeds the oxidation products directly into a second thermal conductivity chromatographic unit. The method is rapid and requires less than ten micrograms of each component for carbon and hydrogen analysis. High boiling compounds (including solids in solution) may be analyzed.
