Abstrakt: Dupuytren's disease (DD) is a very common condition of the hand for which most people do not seek treatment. There is a broad spectrum of involvement: from slight thickening of the palmar fascia, which may not be noticed by the individual, to widespread disease of the palmar fascia and the digital fascia associated with severe digital joint contractures. Dupuytren's disease has been called a disease of the Celtic race. It is very common and often severe in people of Northern European origin, but it is not uncommon in most races.
