The Pfizer International Medical Management System (PIMMS) is a computer based program developed to manage development projects and expedite the registration and launch of new products, to provide immediate access by Pfizer Headquarters and subsidiary staff to current information available, and to facilitate communications among users. Two features of PIMMS, the Registration Tracking system and the Pfizer International Formulary, are described. Use of the registration tracking component has increased Pfizer's efficiency in expediting the registration and launch of new products through the ability to anticipate country needs by improved communications. The formulary database provides opportunities for expanded product lines through a cross pollination process and provides rapid identification of where products are marketed |
