An Alternative Approach to Clinical Research Associate Training

Abstrakt: To maintain the increasingly stringent scientific and regulatory requirements relating to the conduct of clinical trials and provide greater and more specific assistance to investigators, the Clinical Research Associate (CRA) was conceived. The pharmaceutical industry has a responsibility to ensure that it maintains the highest possible standards of training across all disciplines and this article discusses the general requirements of a CRA training and development program. The scheme by which the majority of new CRAs joining ICI Pharmaceuticals are trained is then compared with the company's Pharmaceutical Traineeship Scheme, for which the post of CRA is one of the target positions.
