Abstrakt: Several programs have been developed and tested to reduce the frequency of aircrew decisional errors. “Aeronautical decisionmaking” (ADM) materials are intended to enhance the judgment abilities of the individual aviators. A review of six empirical ADM studies reveals that such programs reduced the frequency of pilot errors from 8 to 46 percent. The use of such materials by a large commercial operator resulted in a 54% decrease in their accident rate.
