Abstrakt: Beacuse acquisitions librarians deal in large part with publishers and vendors, librarians should be familiar with laws regulating the publishing industry. Commercial preactices in general are regulated bu the Federal Trade Commission which issues industry guides for the governing of various industries or practices. The American Library Association and the American Association of Law Libraries have long-established committees that moderate relations between libraries and publishers.
