The Role of Optometry Within the Naval Industrial Establishment

Abstrakt: The U. S. Navy in many of its operations has many industrial environmental problems as found in private industry. The testing of vision relative to job requirements and a program of maintenance of good vision are important to health, safety, and production. The Navy program, dedicated to human maintenance, suggests five levels of prevention: promotion of health, specific protection, early diagnosis and treatment, limitation of disability, and rehabilitation.
