Abstrakt:	2Thioxo5,7dimethylpyrido2,3dpyrimidin43Hones 3were synthesized by the cyclocondensation of 2amino3carbethoxy4,6dimethylpyridine 1 with methylNaryldithiocarbamates 2and compared with the condensation between 1and aryl isothiocyanates 4. When a comparative study of N vs Salkylation of ambident 2thioxo5,7dimethylpyrido2,3dpyrimidin43Hones 3was carried out under liquidliquid and solidliquid phase transfer conditions using various alkylating agents 5, the Salkylated products 6were obtained exclusively and selectively.
