Ferrocenyl nitrones derived from aldehydes or oximes react with electron deficient alkenes to give ferrocenylisoxazolidines. 5Methoxycarbonylisoxazolidines are further transformed to ferrocenylpyrrolidinones by reductive cleavage. The regio and stereoselectivity of the reactions are discussed. |
