How the accuracy of concentration measurement by determination of optical densities can be increased is discussed. In particular the effectiveness of multiple-reflection cells is shown, both theoretically and experimentally. The smaller are the differences of the concentrations (or their changes in flash photolysis or pulse radiolysis), the higher is the efficiency of multiple-reflection cells. For multiple-reflection cells, tested in measurements of the optical density of liquids, the geometrical calculation is given. |
