Abstrakt: Steady-state applications of the theory in Part 1 of the paper are made to a particular layered pressure vessel design subjected to a typical set of pressure and thermal loadings. Results are compared for several analyses: elastic analysis, linear thermoelastic analysis for a solid-wall vessel, nonlinear analysis for solid-wall, and nonlinear analysis for a layered vessel. Due to the thermal resistance between layers, the maximum circumferential stress is, for the nonlinear analysis, about 35 percent greater for the layered vessel than it is for the solid-wall vessel.
