Impoverishment of rubidium and potassium on the periphery of the Bugulminian granitoid complex, the result of progressively decreasing chemical potentials (and increasing mobilities) of the alkalies from the core to the periphery of the intrusion, is interpreted as the effect of contamination of the magma by its basic host rocks prior to its crystallization. — V.P.
