Abstrakt: The succession of vascular plants and lichens along a 131m transect, representing 70 - 80 years accretion to a sand-dune system, was studied at Tentsmuir Point National Nature Reserve, Fife. Its flora is compared to other dune areas and the reasons why some such areas are lichen-rich and others lichen-poor are discussed.
