| Abstrakt: | Purified γ-globin specific complementary DNA has been used to demonstrate the presence of the gene for γ-globin in DNA from human adult red blood cells. This finding sheds doubt on any theory involving looping-out excision of genes to explain the switch over from synthesis of γ-globin to β-globin at birth. |
