| Abstrakt: | The use of the fatigue notch factor Kfin Neuber's rule is shown to be identical in the elastic range to the assumption of the Hookian stress concentration factor Kt, a multiaxial stress state, and a maximum principal strain criterion for fatigue life. The adequacy of assuming the fatigue notch factor Kfis demonstrated for mild notches. Arguments are presented in favor of assuming a multiaxial stress state at the notch for highly constrained notches. |
