Periodical long term radon measurements indicated that, in addition to the ventilation rate, the stability of ventilation is of great importance when control of radon is concerned. Increasing ventilation increased negative pressure inside both buildings with mechanical ventilation. Consequently, short term levels of radon were highest during the periods of maximum ventilation rate. The increasing effect of instability of ventilation to indoor radon is explained to be due to fluctuation of negative pressure inside a house. |
