The morphology, micromorphology and volatile compound composition of three groups of Thymus striatus plants growing in Italy have been studied. According to both morphological and phytochemical data we confirm the presence of T. striatus ssp. acicularis (Waldst.& Kit.) Ronn. on calcareous soil in Central Italy, of T. striatus ssp. ophioliticus Lacaita on serpentine soil in Central Italy and of T. striatus ssp. neapolitanus (Kerner) Ronn. in Southern Italy. |
