A study on the level of Ca, K, and Na in breast milk was performed in 22 women. The study was carried out every day beginning from the 1st day to the 7th day and including the 120th day. The results, being statistically elaborated, have shown that there was a significant individual variations in the concentrations of the abovementioned macroelements. There was no evident connection between the changes of the elements and the consecutive investigation of the milk. We had the impression that the curves of Ca and K were almost parallel, while that of Na showed a permanent fall from the beginning of lactation up to the end of the investigation. The different elements investigated in this study have shown no regular relationship among themselves. |
