The reaction of a fatty acid collector with uraninite during flotation

Abstrakt: The mechanism of the reaction of the collector with the surface of minerals is one of the main problems in the modern theory of flotation. The present article gives the results on an experimental study of the sorption of a fatty acid collector on uraninite. The kinetic characteristics of the process are considered. Empirical relationships are established, characterizing the interconnection between the surface state of the uraninite and the amount of collector fixed to it. Data are given on the electrokinetic characteristics of the uraninite surface as a function of a number of factors. The obtained results are generalized and related to the results of experiments on the flotation of uraninite from monomineral and bimineral pulps.
