The resistance to cavitation-induced erosion of alloys used in the construction and repairs of ship screw propellers was investigated with particular reference to the specific features of fracture of separate structural alloy components and to the effect of alloying on their cavitation-erosion resistance. It was established that there is a relationship between alloying, the stacking fault energy, type of dislocation structure and the resistance of alloys to the action of cavitation forces. |
