Abstrakt: The effect of crystalline aluminum silicate additions on the nature and the stability of supermolecular structures of polyformaldehyde (PFA) and on some of its physicomechanical properties was studied in relation to silicate particle shape and size. It was shown that structurally active forms of aluminum silicate are highly dispersed powder and needle-like particles which affect the supermolecular structure and physicomechanical characteristics of PFA and, in time, promote their stability. A concept of the thermodynamic activity of filler materials was introduced and an attempt was made to explain their stabilizing influence on the structure and properties of crystallizing polymers.
