A mechanism for the polarographic oxidation of azaindolines that includes electrochemical and chemical steps is proposed. The preparative electrolysis of 1-phenyl-4-methyl-6-morpholino-7-azaindoline, which gives the corresponding 7-azaindole and (7-aza-5-indolinyl)-7-azaindoline, was accomplished. |
