| Abstrakt: | 1H and13C NMR spectroscopy were used to show that alkylation of the nitrogen atom in pyridine by dimethyl sulfate proceeds with the formation of N-methylpyridinium methyl sulfate in the Fischer reagent upon use and during storage along with other reactions already described in the literature. |
