1.A theory has been given for the magnetic isotope effect and the enrichment of molecular oxygen in17O isotope in chain oxidation reactions.2.Probabilities have been calculated for the recombination of peroxyl radicals differing in oxygen isotope composition; the magnetic isotope effect has been computed, as well as its dependence on the diffusivity and viscosity.3.Certain geochemical and cosmochemical consequences of the magnetic isotope effect have been discussed. |
