1.2-Acetyl-a-2,3-epoxycarane which exists in solution as a single gauche conformer with minimal polarity was synthesized by the epoxidation of 2-acetyl-2-carene by perphthalic acid.2.The conjugation in the system of double bonds in 2-acetyl-2-carene is disturbed due to acoplanarity of the C=C-C=O fragment. |
