Abstrakt: 1.Thermodesorption studies have shown the presence of several types of centers: centers for the firm irreversible adsorption of CO, centers for the adsorption of H2O, centers for the competitive adsorption of CO and H2O, and centers for the CO-H2O conversion, on the surface of the skeletal copper catalyst.2.It is suggested that CO adsorbs in bridged form on the competitive adsorption centers, and in linear form on the reaction centers. The conversion reaction involves CO and H2O molecules adsorbed on a small fraction (~1%) of centers, the H2O molecules in question being in the associative adsorbed form.
