Conclusions 1.In the ionic hydrogenation of 1,3-diphthaloyl-2-alkylcyclopropanes and 1,3-diphthaloyl-2-alkylpropanes, the carbonyl groups are easily reduced, in contrast to compounds that contain one indandionyl fragment.2.Under these reaction conditions the three-membered ring in 1,3-diphthaloylcyclopropanes is stable.3.The alkyl substituents in these compounds do not affect the course of ionic hydrogenation. |
