Abstrakt: 1.2,2,6,6-Tetramethylpiperidin-1-oxyl effectively inhibits the oxidation of furfurol, slowing down the rate of accumulation of oxygen-containing products and colored polymers. This is a more effective oxidation inhibitor than triethanolamine.2.The measured rate of consumption of the nitroxyl radicals was used to determine the rate of chain initiation at 60°C.3.A scheme is proposed for the formation of polymeric products through reaction of the furoyl radicals with the furfurol, but without participation of oxygen.
