1.The organic isocyanates of group IVB elements enter into an exchange reaction with primary alkyl halides.2.In the reaction of triphenyllead isocyanate with secondary butyl chloride both an exchange reaction and an elimination reaction take place, the latter reaction predominating.3.In their reactions with tertiary butyl chloride the isocyanates of triphenylsilicon, triphenylgermanium, triphenyltin, and triphenyllead behave as dehydrochlorinating agents. |
