1.During the reaction of chloranil (CA) with 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-hydroxypiperidin-1-oxyl in the presence of bases, successive substitution of the chlorine atoms in CA by piperidyloxy groups takes place. The selectivity of the substitution and the yield of piperidyloxy-p-benzoquinone depend on the conditions of the reaction, and the nature of the medium and base.2.A method for the quantitative determination of piperidyloxy-p-benzoquinones in the reaction mixture was developed, based on the Chromatographie separation of these compounds and the determination of benzoquinones in the extracts of the Chromatographie zones by EPR. |
