Conclusions 1.We have prepared organosilicon peroxyesters by reaction of t-butyl trimethylsilyl peroxide with succinic or phthalic anhydride in the presence of a catalytic quantity of pyridine.2.The reaction of phthalic anhydride with bis (trimethylsilyl) peroxide in the absence of pyridine involves the intermediacy of an acyl organosilicon peroxide, which rearranges to trimethylsilyl dimethyl (methoxy) silyl phthalate.3.Homolysis of the O-O bond takes place when OO-t-butyl O-trimethylsilyl monoperoxyphthalate is heated, giving a mixture of products resulting from free radical reactions, t-Butyl trimethylsilyl peroxide and phthalic anhydride are formed simultaneously. |
