Abstrakt: Conclusions 1.Butyllithium (BL) forms 4:1 and 4:2 complex with trimethylamine (TMA). A 4:4 complex is observed in isooctane solution at temperature below -70°C. With an excess of BL and at low temperature, disproportionation reactions lead to the formation of 4:4 and 6:1 complexes.2.Butyllithium forms 4:1 and 4:2 complexes with triethylamine. These complexes are less stable than the corresponding BL-TMA complexes.3.The mixed complexes of BL with TMA and TEA have been characterized. Butyllithium coordinates more firmly with THF than with TMA.
