Abstrakt: Conclusions 1.The lamellar graphite compounds containing iron, ruthenium, and osmium, in the presence of excess metallic potassium, catalyze the synthesis of ammonia from nitrogen and hydrogen.2.The catalytic activity of such systems pass through a maximum as the ratio potassiums transition metal increases.3.On heating graphite-iron-potassium catalysts with nitrogen or with a nitrogen-hydrogen mixture, considerable amounts of CN- are formed.
